Covid Grants Available
#1
The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) grant is paid to businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors affected by the lockdown.  Although the criteria are not specific to village halls and community centres, several member halls have been successful.  If the rateable value of your hall is £15,000 or less, the grant is £667 per 14 days of closure which means that you should receive £1,334 for November’s lockdown, £2,001 for 5 January to 15 February 2021 plus the hall is eligible for a one-off Closed Business Lockdown Payment of £4,000.  A grand total of £7,335.  If your rateable value is higher you will get more.

Have you been successful applying for a Covid grant?

The Restart Grant scheme supports businesses in the non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors with a one-off grant, to reopen safely as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Village and community halls are classed as hospitality & leisure venues and the grant can be £8,000 or more depending on the hall's rateable value.

If you have already received an LRSG grant, you should be contacted automatically by your local authority.  If not, more information can be found on your Council's website - just search for Restart Grant.Dorset or BCP.
